C&T Enterprises, Inc. will receive letters of interest for the position of Field Service Technician at Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative (REC).

Location: The position will be located at the Tri-County REC headquarters in Mansfield, PA.

Reporting Structure: The position will report to the Field Services Supervisor at Tri-County REC.

Primary Responsibilities: To design both overhead and underground distribution electrical facilities as well as fiber optic facilities to safely and reliably provide electric service to the Cooperatives members. Completed design documents shall be provided to the Operations department for construction.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Technical school or high school diploma.
  • An associate’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, or applied mathematics is preferred.
  • Two years of progressive experience in surveying, line construction and maintenance, or technical work involving the electric profession is preferred.
  • Must have drawing skills capable of preparing neat and accurate work drawings.
  • Must be familiar with Rural Utilities Service (RUS) construction specifications, National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code, Cooperative Engineering and Operations policies and practices and safety rules.
  • Understands the fundamentals of electricity and has a strong math background.
  • Maintains basic knowledge of surveying techniques and ability to operate basic equipment for surveying and equipment used in locating underground facilities.
  • Computer skills including basic operation and knowledge of computer programs.
  • Applies problem-solving skills to identify and utilize basic troubleshooting techniques to promptly resolve issues, demonstrating the ability to balance multiple duties and priorities.
  • Utilizes excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, members, contractors, and landowners in both verbal and written form.

General Responsibilities:

As the Field Service Technician, the candidate's responsibilities will include:

  • Assuming responsibility for staking activities within assigned territory.
  • Designing new distribution and transmission lines, designing fiber-optic lines, upgrading existing electrical facilities, or relocating the Cooperatives existing electrical or fiber-optic facilities.
  • Successfully completing all necessary paperwork including staking sheets, picking sheets, right-of-way, permits and cost estimates.
  • Working with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technician to ensure accuracy of system maps.
  • Periodically verifying safety clearance of existing structures.
  • Coordinating the location of underground facilities of other utilities.
  • Inspecting line conditions either through daily vigilance, specific request, or Cooperative maintenance program(s).
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with other utility engineers, Cooperative members, contractors, and landowners.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with all Cooperative employees and assisting other departments when needed.
  • Frequently communicating and coordinating with the Director of Engineering, Director of Operations, Field Services Supervisor, District Operation Supervisor, and District Crew Chiefs.
  • Frequently coordinating metering with the Metering Technician.
  • Keeping all assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles in good, safe working conditions.
  • Attending safety training and employee meetings as required.
  • Attending and participating in Cooperative annual meetings as requested or directed.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of types of electrical services, applicable codes, specifications, Cooperative policies, and necessary permitting procedures.
  • Performing other related work as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and navigate rough or uneven terrain as needed.
  • May be required to work overtime during storm-related events, including dispatching or assisting field crews.
  • Occasional attendance at after-hours meetings or overnight travel for work-related events may be necessary.
  • The ideal candidate must be capable of performing the essential functions of the role, which may include walking long distances over varied terrain such as rights-of-way. Primary Function: To provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to members/customers on billing questions and service problems on the telephone. Dispatch outages, fiber optic problems, and other service problems to crews.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly, gather and analyze information, generate creative solutions, and demonstrate attention to detail

Responsibilities:

As the Part-Time Call Center Operator, the candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Answering all incoming calls
  • Responding to caller's inquiries regarding billing or service concerns
  • Taking messages, entering service orders, and typing dispatch logs for each company
  • Dispatching and informing of outage or trouble calls to the appropriate service crew(s)
  • Ensuring all calls are transferred to the Call Center or respective offices when necessary
  • Handling outbound and inbound fiber sales calls, Collection calls, and Paperwork Calls for companies
  • Assisting Call Center Management and other departments with any jobs that they need help with
  • Reading the procedure books monthly to stay abreast of new procedures

Primary Function: This position is responsible for promoting and selling fiber-to-the-home and broadband products and services, primarily within the Revolution Broadband service territory. The role involves direct interaction with both existing and prospective subscribers through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and email communication. Key duties include generating new accounts, educating subscribers on available services and pricing plans, and assisting with the purchasing process.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience or degree in a technology-related field is preferred
  • Experience in direct sales and customer service
  • Familiarity with broadband systems and related equipment and services is preferred

  • Delivering exceptional member service and fostering strong member relations
  • Representing the Cooperative and Subsidiary positively through active participation in community events and local initiatives

  • Traveling as required, with a valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Working collaboratively with the entire cooperative team to consistently meet or exceed member expectations

Special Working Conditions:

  • This position requires independent travel to various locations both within and outside the Cooperative’s service territory, including site visits and public interactions.
  • Time is divided between working indoors in a typical business environment and traveling throughout the service area.

  • Managing and providing high-level, complex support for the Company's entire network infrastructure.
     
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge applicable to the current information technology environment.
     
  • Ensuring that the performance and availability of the network infrastructure are maintained to the highest standard with maximum productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

As the System Engineer (Electric Distribution) Level I & Level II, the candidate's responsibilities will involve both office and field work involvement and include:

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external engineering firms to create short-term and long-range plans for enhancing the electric distribution facility improvement plan.
     
  • Perform system coordination studies and provide protective device settings for fault-isolating equipment within the distribution system.
     
  • Research and devise strategies to leverage the fiber infrastructure to create a more robust electric distribution system, including distribution automation.
     
  • Assist in the planning, designing, and mapping of new fiber infrastructure in conjunction with the electric system.
     
  • Develop predictive maintenance programs utilizing advanced technologies such as drones, various software, and SCADA systems.
     
  • Develop preventive maintenance routines and schedules for electrical equipment distribution, following industry best practices, NETA recommendations, and manufacturers’ O&M manuals.
     
  • Assume the role of project manager for large-scale Distribution and Transmission projects.
     
  • Review, modify, and interconnect all Alternative Energy Systems interconnected to Tri-County REC’s distribution system.
     
  • Provide support for the Cooperative's two-way metering AMI system(s), including load management. Implement initiatives to maximize their capabilities and develop report analysis.
     
  • Perform other related work as assigned.
